About Us

Before Alabama Decks and Exteriors was a household name it was known as, Alabama Decks and Porches. The company was founded in 1995 by Lee Kingry, who saw an opportunity to serve homeowners in a better way. While working as a siding salesman for Sears Home Improvement in the early 1990s, Lee was consistently asked if he could help with decks and other outdoor projects. Recognizing the need for a trustworthy, specialized company, he set out to build one, and Alabama Decks and Porches was born.

In 2017, Brady Wilson joined the team as a designer and project manager, quickly discovering that this work was about so much more than building structures, it was about building spaces where life happens. In 2019, Brady had the opportunity to carry that vision forward by purchasing the company from Lee, and it has been his honored to lead it ever since.

What drives Alabama Decks and Exteriors is simple: PEOPLE. We love hearing our customers’ stories and seeing how their spaces come to life long after the project is complete. It’s the hugs at home shows, the messages from past clients sharing how much they still love their porch, and the everyday moments that make it all worthwhile. These are the moments we think about when we design and build for families and it’s our joy to partner with you as well.
